Defining the role of an accountant these days can be tough due to the advancement in finance automation. Some professionals believe that new technology will eliminate the need for accountants in their organization. While the role of the profession has changed, there are specializations that are still needed that technology can’t provide like financial strategy, data analysis, soft skill and business coaching skills. The road ahead may be difficult for some accountants but if they are prepared for the changes coming their way, they will play a role in enhancing the role.
