17 January 2001
Atlanta, Georgia
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
3C Software, providers of the enterprise cost management system, Impact:3C®, announced a software license and professional services agreement with San Jose, California based Xilinx, Inc. Xilinx will use Impact:3C® to calculate and report detailed product and process costs for its San Jose manufacturing location. Xilinx joins Cypress Semiconductor, TriQuint Semiconductor, AMD (Advanced Micro Devices), Anadigics, Analog Devices, and SDL, Inc as semiconductor manufacturers who have chosen Impact:3C® as their cost management system.
Xilinx, the leading supplier of complete programmable logic solutions, develops manufactures and markets a broad line of advanced integrated circuits, software design tools and intellectual property delivered as predefined system-level functions. Customers use automated software tools and cores from Xilinx and its partners to program the chips to perform custom logic operations or other system-level processing functions. Founded in 1984, Xilinx has more than 5,000 customers worldwide. Fiscal 2000 revenues were $1.02 billion.
3C Software, founded in 1988, specializes in enterprise cost management systems for process intense manufacturers. Their software product, Impact:3C®, is currently running at over 350 manufacturing locations. A partial list of 3C clients includes: PPG Industries, Pratt & Whitney, Mohawk Industries, Russell Corporation, Champion International, Cooper Tire & Rubber Company and Minnesota Corn Processors.
3C Software’s product, Impact:3C®, is designed to handle the complex needs of process intensive manufacturing industries like semiconductor, chemical, metals, pulp and paper, textile, glass, electronics and food processing. Complex issues such as process yield/loss, product obsolescence/down grade, multiple/alternate product routings, and engineering change effective dates, as well as typical cost accounting calculations like allocations, burden rates and process throughputs, are easily handled by Impact:3C®.
Impact:3C’s flexibility, driven by its object-oriented design, allows each client to model their own unique manufacturing process and cost methodology. The modeling process does not involve source code change, so implementations are much faster and much less expensive than traditional software implementations. Impact:3C® models can also be replicated for use in forward looking and “what if” scenarios.
